Top-down, macro driven approach to long/short equity investing
Tony D’Andraia is the Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of HCM. Mr. D’Andraia spent the previous two years as a Vice President at Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for trading a long/short equity portfolio. While at Morgan Stanley Mr. D’Andraia invested across multiple industries with a core focus on the retail, consumer, industrial and financial sectors. He also invested opportunistically in various global macro asset classes including commodities and currencies via highly liquid ETF’s. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. D’Andraia spent over eight years as the Senior Consumer Sector Analyst at Avesta Capital Advisors, a $1billion+ fundamentally driven long/short equity hedge fund spun-out of Moore Capital Management. While at Avesta, Mr. D’Andraia had sole discretion over a retail carve-out for four years. Prior to this role, Mr. D’Andraia was a consumer/retail analyst at Moore Capital Management. Before joining Moore Capital, Mr. D’Andraia was an Associate in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers following the Retail Broadline and Specialty Retail sectors. Mr. D’Andraia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.
Justin Meadlin is the Co-Founder, COO and CFO of HCM and is responsible for day to day operation and business development. For the past five years, Mr. Meadlin was a Managing Director at FBR Capital Markets where he cultivated and leveraged a network of contacts within industry, private sector, and his client base to discover unique investment opportunities for major institutional clients. Prior to FBR, Mr. Meadlin was a Vice President at Cowen and Company. Prior to Cowen, Mr. Meadlin spent three years as an Associate at Banc of America Securities. Mr. Meadlin began his career as an Analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Meadlin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia University.
